Mark Anthony Kouri

Mark Anthony Kouri of Conway, Arkansas passed away at his home on December 31, 2025.

Mark, the son of Charles Thomas and JoAn Marie Kouri, was born on November 3, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mark grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Sunland-Tujunga, California. He had one sister, Charlotte JoAn Kacmar; two brothers, David Victor and Charles Joseph Kouri. In 1974, he graduated from Verdugo Hills High School. Two years later he married Cindy Lee Somerville. They had two sons, Mark James and Michael Anthony Kouri. After his chapter with Cindy ended, he met Carol Ann Fullmer, with whom he had one son, Patrick James Kouri. The three relocated to Conway, Arkansas in 2004. Mark and Carol remained life partners from 1984 until 2022, when Carol passed away.

A man of many talents, Mark held occupations ranging from tile setter, construction to manufacturing. His skills outside his professional work were also notable – car mechanics, plumbing, building projects for home, and fixing household appliances. Being mechanically minded was a trait he always excelled at and pursued his entire life.  

Mark had many passions and hobbies in life. He was avid lover of his Choctaw heritage and spent many years studying Choctaw culture and jewelry making. He loved being outdoors, whether riding his bike or going fishing. He would listen to rock music any time he could, particularly when working on projects. He was an avid history scholar with remarkable memory, recall and interpretation. Of all his passions in life, though, his family was his greatest love. When he was with his family, he was happy.

Mark is survived in death by his sons, Michael and Patrick; sister, Charlotte; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and JoAn; life partner, Carol; ex-wife, Cindy; son, Mark; brothers, David and Charles.
